Thank you to Calliope Brass for thoroughly engaging and educational performances today about telling a story through music, story elements and brass instruments!
Thank you to Manhattan School of Music for bringing an original musical to WHEELS yesterday! Our students loved learning about elements of opera and musical theater.
Last week WHEELS second graders made our school community very proud when they presented their work in the culminating event for their learning expedition on the Great Migration. They acted, narrated, displayed their artwork, and played music. They sang "St. Louis Blues" and "C-Jam Blues" while playing ukuleles and keyboards.

Six WHEELS high school music students co-wrote and performed a song about racism at Carnegie Hall's Studio 57 Live concert yesterday. They stayed and jammed with other young musicians after the concert. It was really inspiring to see all of the excellent original music performed at the concert, which was in line with the theme of next weekend's concert at Carnegie Hall, A Time Like This.
